It started, like a lot of good ideas, with a wall we didn't like.

A wall we couldn't stand

Our first apartment had a kitchen backsplash that was dated, chipped and impossible to keep clean. We got quotes to retile it: hundreds of dollars in materials, a contractor booked three weeks out, two days of dust and noise, and a landlord who wasn't thrilled about any of it. So we did what most people do. We lived with it.

Nothing felt like real tile

Then we tried the alternatives. Vinyl stickers that bubbled after the first shower. Thin panels that looked flat and plastic in daylight. Nothing had the depth, the relief and the finish of real tile.

It had to look like real ceramic from three feet away, go up in an afternoon, and peel off cleanly the day you move.

So we made it ourselves

We spent months with manufacturers testing materials, adhesives and finishes until we had a tile that passed our own test: the look of real ceramic up close, no tools, no grout, strong enough for steam, splashes and grease for years, and gentle enough to come off without a mark.

Made for people like us

Our first customers were people exactly like us: renters, first-time buyers, parents with a weekend and a budget. Today more than a thousand kitchens and bathrooms have been transformed with our tiles, and the photos they send us are still the best part of our week.
