Choosing your peel and stick tile

Marbréa, Mosaëla, Cannelia: three styles, one easy no-renovation install.

  • Marbréa: veined marble look, flat 11.8" × 11.8" (30 × 30 cm) panels in waterproof PVC. Clean, bright and effortlessly elegant.
  • Mosaëla: raised 3D mosaic, 10" × 10" (25.4 × 25.4 cm) sheets. Adds depth to your wall and plays with the light.
  • Cannelia: raised vertical flutes, 10" × 10" (25.4 × 25.4 cm) sheets. A designer fluted-panel look that makes the room feel taller.

That's the number one worry, and it's a fair one. What gives away a peel and stick wall is almost never the pattern: it's a sloppy install. Crooked panels, lifting edges, rough cuts around outlets.

Installed straight, on a clean wall, with clean utility-knife cuts, the result looks crisp and convincing. Take a minute to draw a level line before the first panel: that's what makes the whole job.

Measure the width and height of the area in inches, multiply them and divide by 144: that's your square footage. Then:

  • Marbréa: pack of 10 ≈ 9.7 sq ft (0.9 m²), pack of 30 ≈ 29.1 sq ft (2.7 m²).
  • Mosaëla and Cannelia: coverage is listed on each option (pack of 10 ≈ 7.0 sq ft / 0.65 m², pack of 30 ≈ 20.9 sq ft / 1.94 m² for the 10" size).

Add 10% extra for cuts and the occasional mistake. Example: a 79" × 24" backsplash (2 × 0.6 m) = 12.9 sq ft (1.2 m²), so about 14.2 sq ft (1.32 m²) with the extra.

Send us your measurements and we'll do the math with you.

Because cuts around outlets, corners and windows use up panels, and it's a lot more satisfying to finish your project the same day than to wait for a second box.

Keep one or two spare panels, too: if one gets damaged years from now, you can swap it for an identical one.

We photograph our products to be as close to real life as possible, but every screen displays color a little differently, and the light in your room changes how colors look, too.

Torn between two shades? Send us a photo of your room and we'll honestly tell you which one works best.

Kitchen backsplash, bathroom vanity backsplash, headboard wall, entryway, accent wall in the living room: that's where it makes the biggest impact.

Avoid areas that are constantly wet or exposed to high heat, though: inside a shower, or in direct contact with a cooktop or stove.

Installing peel and stick tile

You're not a tile setter. You don't need to be.

No. A tape measure, a level (or a straightedge), a pencil, a sharp utility knife and a clean cloth to smooth things out. That's it.

No glue, no grout, no drill, no dust.

This is the step that decides how long it lasts. The surface must be clean, dry, smooth and grease-free.

  • Wash with a degreasing soap (a must on a kitchen backsplash), rinse and let it dry completely.
  • Fill any holes and sand down rough spots.
  • On fresh paint, wait until it's fully dry and cured before installing.

Yes, it's actually one of the most common uses. The old tile must be firmly attached, clean and degreased. If the grout lines are very deep, the adhesive won't grip as well over them: ideally, fill them in to get a flat surface.

Porous, crumbly or uneven surfaces: textured stucco, flaking plaster, bare brick or concrete, wallpaper, raw unfinished wood, damp walls.

If that's your wall, a skim coat followed by primer is all it takes to make it compatible.

For a typical backsplash, plan on one afternoon, cuts included. The first panel takes the longest because it has to be perfectly straight. After that, it goes fast.

Turn off the power, remove the outlet cover, hold the panel in place, mark the opening with a pencil, then cut with a utility knife on a protected surface, using several light passes instead of one hard press.

Then screw the outlet cover back on top: it hides the cut and gives a clean finish.

Right after placing it, before you press down firmly, you can gently peel it off and adjust it. Once it's firmly smoothed down, the adhesive reaches full strength: that's by design, it's what keeps it on the wall.

Our tip: always dry-fit the panel with the backing still on before you stick it.

Durability and care

What happens after the install, in real life.

On a well-prepped surface (clean, dry, smooth, grease-free) and away from direct heat, yes. In almost every case, a panel that lifts comes down to a poorly prepped wall or an incompatible surface.

Marbréa is made of waterproof PVC: splashes at the kitchen sink or bathroom vanity won't bother it.

For all our collections, avoid constant running water (inside a shower) and wipe up splashes rather than letting them sit. In the bathroom, run the fan or open a window after showering: it's good for the tiles and for your wall.

Behind a sink or along a countertop, no problem. Directly behind a cooktop or oven, we recommend keeping a safe distance or leaving a protected area (glass or stainless steel panel) where the heat hits directly.

A soft sponge or a slightly damp microfiber cloth, with a little mild soap if needed. That's it.

Avoid abrasive scrubbers, solvent-based cleaners and pointing a steam cleaner directly at the panels.

No problem: peel slowly starting from a corner, pulling the panel back toward you, flat along the wall rather than straight out. A little warm air from a hair dryer softens the adhesive and makes removal easier.

On old or delicate paint, a bit of paint may come off with the adhesive. Any adhesive residue wipes off with a cloth and a little rubbing alcohol.
